The Joy of Nursing was founded by Carolyn Bramen, a postpartum newborn nurse and IBCLC with over 25 years of experience. Her passion for supporting new mothers led her to create a personalized, in-home lactation service, bringing expert care and encouragement right to you.

Whether you need help with latching, milk supply, pumping, bottle feeding, or weaning, we provide compassionate support to make your breastfeeding journey smoother and more confident.

  • A Lifesaver for Baby #3

    When my third baby was born, I was surprised to struggle with breastfeeding, especially since I had successfully breastfed my two older children without any issues.  My newborn was having trouble latching and wasn't gaining weight, and I felt overwhelmed and discouraged!  Carolyn was incredibly supportive and knowledgeable.  She reminded me that although it was my third time nursing, it was this baby's first time.   • Finally, the Right Support

    I had been seen by a lactation consultant in the hospital and had two come to my home to help me with breastfeeding my first newborn.  It wasn't until a friend encouraged me to contact Carolyn for help that I truly got the breastfeeding support I needed.  As a baby nurse and a lactation consultant she was by far the most knowledgeable.  She immediately noticed my daughter had a tight frenulum which was causing many of the issues we were experiencing with breastfeeding. Carolyn spoke with the pediatrician regarding her concerns and they both referred me to a pediatric dentist that was able to perform a laser frenectomy.

    I will be forever grateful for Carolyn's support and reassurance  as I was able to breastfeed my daughter for over a year.
