Meet the Team
Compassionate. Experienced. Trustworthy.
Carolyn Bramen, Founder | BSN, IBCLC, RNC
As a dedicated and compassionate Mother-Baby nurse and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), I am committed to supporting mothers and families during the transformative journey of parenthood. With 25 years of experience in providing personalized, evidence-based care, I specialize in helping mothers navigate the challenges that may arise with breastfeeding, newborn care, and postpartum recovery.
With a strong background in inpatient and outpatient clinical practice and ongoing professional development, I am able to offer guidance on topics such as latch and positioning, milk supply, infant feeding patterns, pumping, maternal and newborn health and returning to work. Understanding the unique needs of each family, I am able to tailor support to ensure a positive, fulfilling breastfeeding experience and smooth transition to parenting.
I am passionate about empowering families through education and hands-on support. I have a special connection with families of premature infants as my own son was born at 31 weeks and spent nearly a month in the NICU. I know first hand how emotional and stressful this can be. So whether you are a first time parent or adding to your growing family, I am here to provide compassionate care.
When I am not helping families, I enjoy spending time with my 3 children and my husband. I love to travel, hike and spend time in nature.
I have been helping breastfeeding families for over 20 years. I began working as an In-Patient International Board Certified Lactation Consultant at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in 2002 and at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital in 2006.
In my time at Henry Mayo as the Lactation Program Coordinator, I developed a comprehensive lactation program including; inpatient, outpatient services and facilitated breastfeeding support groups. I led the hospital toward achieving the prestigious Baby-Friendly Designation by creating infant feeding policies around the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding, and removing In-hospital barriers for exclusive breastfeeding.
I developed staff breastfeeding education, and was instrumental in making donor breastmilk available to newborns when medically indicated. I am passionate about helping families navigate through their breastfeeding journey. I take on a family centered approach and committed to helping families reach their breastfeeding goals.
I specialize in low milk supply, tongue tie, multiples, late-preterm and preterm infants, bottle feeding, induced lactation, and adoptive nursing; as well as, baby behavior and maternal and infant sleep.
I am a longtime resident of the Santa Clarita Valley where my husband and I raised our three children. We live a very active lifestyle and are enjoying our empty nest years with travel, sports, hiking and spending time at the lake and in the mountains with our family.

About the Team
Carolyn and Mary Beth have worked together for over 20 years helping breastfeeding families, many of whom were faced with breastfeeding challenges in the early weeks.
While working in the hospital we saw families coming into our outpatient clinic exhausted and overwhelmed by the thought of having to leave the house for one more appointment to get breastfeeding help, and that it is when the Joy of Nursing was born.
With our warm and caring approach, let us bring the Joy of Nursing into your home where together we can meet your infant feeding goals.
